The theoretical energy density in case of Aluminium Air battery is 8000 wh/kg, why Practical basis we can reach the minimum of 1300 wh/kg ?
The theoretical energy density in case of Aluminum - Air battery is 8000 wh/kg which is calculated from the energy of aluminum(26.8Ah/27g*2.7V*3e-=8.04wh/g(80400wh/kg)) without other anything. However, the battery contains positive, negative, electrolyte, other parts and so on, Therefore, the actual energy density is much lower than the theory. Aluminum air battery is a chemical reaction power generation, with conversion efficiency (Carnot cycle), so it will be far lower than the theoretical value.
For example, the actual available power of our single battery is only 1000Wh (Al is 300g,the theory is 2400wh/kg), the cell is about700g, and the energy density is 1400wh / kg without electrolyte. In this way, it has no guiding significance in practical application. The 300-400wh / kg we mentioned is the energy density of our actual aluminum air system products.
